One of the representatives of Armenian art of the previous century is the artist Guros, whose artistic style was shaped by the influence of classical Armenian painting traditions and complemented by the depth and originality of the artist's worldview. The artist's works are characterized by a simple and sincere thematic depiction of everyday life, distinguished by the detail of the performance, grand spectacle, and a subtle artistic sense. Guros avoids abrupt transitions and the expressiveness of yellow, instead creating gentle relationships that, along with literary and fictional solutions, convey the living breath and materiality of the environment.
The still life genre works belonging to the artist's brush were appraised, featuring apricots spilling from a woven basket at its axis, scattered over a caged rug, and cherries freely placed beside it. A calm accent, punctuated by imaginative elements and an ambient academic approach to performance, the artist Yerov's performance of specific, balanced solutions and inventive elements brings to life simplicity and harmony with the sincerity born from his own artistic vision. The color solutions of the creation are distinguished by tenderness and saturation.
The artist succeeded in achieving realistic perceived volumes by using subtle transitions of warm yellow and green tones, and the red accents of the cherry depicted contribute to the overall brightness of the composition and enhance the play of light on the canvas's surface. With a gentle drawing, the artist conveyed the tactility of the structure of the woven basket, the delicacy of the fruits and leaves, and the transparent patterns of the gable. At the same time, in the overall resolution of the image, thanks to the application of our imaginary details, compositional freedom has been preserved, allowing the work to maintain its balance and focus the viewer's attention on the key details of the scene.
By combining seemingly simple elements, the artist presents the small, seemingly insignificant moments of everyday life, thus becoming the key to presenting the legacy of classical Armenian painting.
