Indeed, the beauty, tenderness, wisdom and inner strength of Armenian women at all times admired not only us - Armenian men, but also men of other peoples of the world. The Armenians were the spouses of many great kings and famous generals.

The Armenian Woman has always been the keeper of the hearth, has raised children, has been a reliable support for the Armenian warrior, inspired him to fight with the enemy.

More than once our beautiful women were subjected to a lot of hardships and trials, to show steadfastness and courage.

And when this was necessary, the Armenian woman took up arms without hesitation and became operational alongside the Armenian men.

On a festive day on March 8, we want to remember and bow to the heroic Armenian women, whom in the centuries-old history of our people there was a great variety. Let us recall the famous Armenian queen Parandzem, the wife of King Arshak.

After the treacherous execution of her husband, when the Persian threat arose over Armenia, she headed the country's defense.

And when the forces were at the limit, together with a small garrison for 14 months, the Persians besieged the fortress of Artagers, remaining in the people's memory a majestic example of an unbending human spirit.

Let us recall the Armenian Jeanne d'Arc of the 12th century - the fearless defender of Ani, Mrs. Aitsemnik Anetsi.

This heroic woman, being together with the men on the walls of the medieval Armenian capital, courageously repelled the attacks of the Seljuk army, Amir Patlun, pulling out the arrows released by the enemy and hitting enemies with them.

Let's remember Anna Khatun, the sister of the owner of the designer of Melaka Avan and the wife of the Melik of the Artsakh village Avetaranots Usain, who together with the men fought against the Ottoman Turks, and their brave daughter - the young Gayane, who stabbed the sharply sharpened dagger in the chest to the leader of the Ottoman army, Suleiman-bey.

Let us worship the bright memory of the famous female fidai, the participant of the national liberation movement of the Sasun Armenians, the wife of Akhpyur Serob Sose Vardanyan.

In 1899, on Mount Heliiguzan, together with her husband and elder son Andranik, she withstood a long siege of the Turks. When the husband and son died, continued the battle alone. She was taken prisoner, and after the release she continued the work of her deceased spouse.

Let us recall the young Dashnak Rubin Areshyan who shot at the bloody beast - Ottoman Sultan Abdul-Hamid II on July 21, 1905. Alas, it's unfortunate.

Let us recall the heroines from the Union of Armenian Women of Van who during the days of the unprecedented defense of the city in April 1915 looked after the wounded, prepared food and clothes, and participated in battles against the Turks on a par with men.

Let us also recall the courageous van scout Iskui Hambardzumyan, who, for her exploits at the age of 17, was awarded the Order of the "Honorary Cross".

Let us recall the girls from the partisan detachment Hermine, who fought past the whole of Western Armenia and took the last battle near the walls of Greek Smyrna.

Recall and a detachment of 128 women under the command of Varsenik, in the regiment of Pogosbek Pirumyan in men's clothing fought against the Turks in the Sardarapat battle. 32 of them remained forever under the walls of Saint Echmiadzin.

Many of the glorious daughters of the Armenian people fought against fascism and performed feats on the margins of World War II, even more of our women selflessly worked in the rear, forging and bringing the Great Victory closer.

It is difficult to overestimate the heroic women's heroic deed that made a significant contribution to the victory of our people in the bloody Artsakh war.

More than two hundred of our fearless sisters fought by volunteers on the front line. More than fifty of them died the death of the brave on the battlefields.

The heroine of Artsakh, a native of Baku Stalin (Stella) Asriyan, who fought as part of the 3rd Battalion under the command of Samvel Harutyunyan.

Twice was wounded, but again returned to the system. 19-year-old Stalin heroically died March 20, 1992 in battles for the village of Hakob Kamari Martakert region.

The teacher of the Armenian language and literature of the Chekhov School in Yerevan, the poet and volunteer Alvard Vardanyan, surrounded by the death of the brave on July 29, 1992, defending the Lachin humanitarian corridor.

After the death, the Turkish non-humans long sneered at her body. Alvard was buried with honor in his native village of Zolakar in the Martuni district. In 1998 her name was school number 2 in Zolakar. Posthumously came out a collection of her poems.

At 24, a native of Baku, a nurse Lolita Vardanova, died heroically. Killed right in the trench, performing his daily military work - bandaging a wounded militiaman.
In 24 years the life of the nurse Ruzanna Yesayan ended. She died while transporting the wounded to Hadrut Hospital.

In January 1994, at the age of 28, the multiple champion of Armenia in archery, Nune Abrahamyan, was tragically killed.

At the age of 26, Agavni Ter-Stepanyan, an actress and soloist of the ensembles Akun and Zartonk, died heroically in the performance of the combat mission.

In 16 years the young life of the brave scout Narine Arakelyan was interrupted. Participant of the operation for the liberation of Shushi and other settlements of Artsakh Naira Sahakyan died at the age of 23. Posthumously awarded with the medal "For Courage" ...

Prima Stepanakert Drama Theater Zhanna Galstyan, which was called the Artsakh Jeanne d'Arc.

It was and is one of the symbols of the modern stage of the national liberation movement of the Artsakh Armenians, which began with its fiery rallies.

During the war, Jeanne fought in the self-defense unit of the Berdadzor sub-district. A combat route was passed from the rank-and-file to the deputy commander of the armed forces of the NKR.

She was awarded the Order of Artsakh "Combat Cross" of two degrees. Together with her, her son Karen went through the war.

Nurse and woman-azatamartik Marietta Kalashyan. Having lost her husband in the first years of the Artsakh movement, she, together with her son Hovik, went to Hadrut, where both fought as part of the Echmiadzin volunteer detachment.

Asya Barkhudaryan, who was called Alla from the ANA. Asya participated in clashes in Yeraskhavan, Tavush and Noyemberyan border areas.

In 1992, she was enrolled in the detachment "Sworn to Vardananku", took part in defensive and liberation battles in Shushi, Martakert, Kubatlu and Fizuli. She was twice wounded, but again returned to service.

Susanna Galstyan is a woman-azatamartik, who was called the male nickname Rambo. One of the founders of our army, a soldier of a special detachment of suicide bombers.

Karine Danielyan, who passed the whole war, participated in the fighting in Hadrut, Martakert, Shushi, Kubatlu.

A participant in the national liberation movement, deputy head of the secret service Lena Sahakyan, who freed Martakert and Fizuli from the enemy.

Heroic women from the Parandzem battalion, who stopped the deportation of the village of Aterk in the Martakert region.

Aida Seropyan is a nurse who became a doctor at the front, where she went for a month in 1991, and remained until the very end of the war.

Mother Lena from Getashen, who became a real mother for the guys from the group Tatul Krpeyan. During Operation Ring and deportation, she burned her house so that it would not be desecrated by the Turks.

Another mother is Sosa Arakelyan, who turned her own house into a barracks for our soldiers. This elderly woman held dozens of soldiers, fed, patched their clothes ...
