Prerequisites

After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the Armenian economy descended into a deep crisis. Immediate action was direly needed in order to strengthen it. One of the most important ways to breathe life into the new post-Soviet Armenian economy was to create opportunities for an easier and more convenient private life for its citizens. This was a challenge replete with obstacles; while the rest of the world had entered a new stage of technical development and possibilities that altered many ordinary consumers' way of life, Armenia remained relatively poor and backward. In particular, it was in dire need of high-quality imports of technical products and equipment from foreign manufacturers. ZIGZAG LLC is proud to underscore its role in helping to solve this challenge.


Foundation

ZIGZAG, founded in 1995, was the first company to import and sell authorised, licensed electronics in Armenia. On 21 July 1995, ZIGZAG opened its first store in Yerevan at 20 Sayat-Nova St. This tiny store had just 42 square metres of space and only two employees, the seller and the cashier.

The principles and the expansion

From the very beginning, our company was shaped by values of hard work and the provision of high-quality services. As the lengthy pedigree of global commercial history clearly attests, this is the only true path to success. In just two years, business grew enough to open a second store at 24 Mashtots Ave., which provided an improved variety of electronic devices: refrigerators, televisions, washing machines, vacuum cleaners, irons, and many others.

ZIGZAG's supply

Another more spacious and comfortable store was opened on 15 September 1999, consonantly with ZIGZAG's rapidly growing reputation for carrying only quality, licensed products with genuine manufacturer's warranty. A high level of service, built from emphasis on market data that provided a detailed view of what customers truly demand, helped cement customer confidence in the company.

The market demand

Propelled by high demand for its products, ZIGZAG continued to expand the breadth of its business with new stores, while expanding its array of product lines and forging new relationships with more manufacturers. Within the next decade, the company opened three new stores throughout Yerevan. In 2011, ZIGZAG opened a large new 24-hour store at Zvartnots International Airport.

Recent advances

On 20 October 2012, ZIGZAG opened a giant new electronics store in the Dalma Garden Mall, a modern new shopping and entertainment center. This new store is the largest in all of Armenia, offering 2100 square metres of retail floor space stocked with the latest electronic appliances from leading global manufacturers. Furthermore, this new store officially carries Apple products!
